#MubarakTrial: Some Scenes

Image
This is not to cover the "trial of the century". This is not to analyze the horrible verdict. This is not to cry over the never-ending injustice. This is to try to see the thoughts behind some scenes in this black day. Mubarak coming late as he always does, the whole country waits for his arrival as if he is still president. He gets out of the ambulance lying on his bed, hands below his head, sunglasses on, as if he is sunbathing. He simply doesn't care, he doesn't give a damn about the trail or the verdict. The sons of Mubarak and himself get in the cage and people start chanting against them, dissing them, praying to God to take vengeance from them. And the minute they all are in, the court orders silence, so he does not hear the people. The judge tells everyone to stay silent whatever happens, as if knowing how unfair his verdict is going to be. Then he goes on with his hypocrisy talk about the revolution as if to tell people, "I'm on your side, pl...

Mubarak's Speech

What happened yesterday in Tahrir was a plan to divide between the SCAF and the people. There are many talks about how this was planned by Zakareya Azmy's men, and I believe them, why? Because this has happened a few days after he was arrested, and because we all know that how slow the SCAF was in taking action is because they're too scared of the regime's gang because they too have stolen our money and everything. So once the SCAF had to take an extra step forward, the gang has also taken a an extra step and tried to do a military coup, and of course lead to a division between the army and the people. Well, this has partly failed, so now to the next step... If people won't get too busy fighting with the army and the army can't mess anything up, then they can try something else. If Mubarak is now ready and hid all his money, then it's time to try to gain the people's sympathy. This had to happen, because now the army has also gotten angry and Mubarak's ...

Egypt Revolts: Day Eighteen

Crawling Friday, February 11th, 2011, later turned into Resignation Friday (11.02.2011, yes that's how cool our revolution is). I don't know where to start, should I start from the moment Omar Soliman announced Mubarak's resignation? Should I start from how my day started today? Should I start from the day the January 25th event was created? Should I start from the moment that I believed we can do it? Should I start from the moment Tunisians were able to overthrow Ben Ali? Should I start from the moment I started writing my Egypt: Now and Then series (that I never got to finish), wondering if Egyptians will ever revolt? I have no idea where to start, or how to start. But since today's post is the most important, and since I witnessed a lot more than some have, I'll try to keep this organized as possible. I woke to find a protest by Maspero, another by the presidential palace, another in Tahrir, and another by the parliament. And this is only Cairo, there were huge...

Revolution 2.0: Shafiq's Gang and Tuesday's Protest

Many of us have heard Shafiq saying that he speaks to "President Mubarak" every now and then. He didn't forget that we made Mubarak resign, he meant that. I'm not saying that Mubarak is still ruling the country, although some are saying so. But we all agree that Mubarak is living a luxurious life in Sharm, and maybe even contacting his people here to try to abort the revolution. He might be doing that to take vengeance or to be sure that he will never be prosecuted. And of course, he will never be prosecuted  as long as Shafiq and his gang are the ones ruling us. Shafiq is very dangerous; if we let him stay in his position for much longer, he will divide us and abort the revolution. Why? Because he talks very well, he has the ability to make anyone believe him. He's trying to divide us in all ways with his very ordered words. He first said that the military might put Omar Soliman in an important position. Then he says that the case of Mubarak's fortune is in t...

80 Reasons to Love the Egyptian Revolution 2.0

Friday of Crawling, 11.02.2011 Now that we have won, after 18 days of hard work, it's time to list all the positive points of this revolution. I want to keep this list close to me to remind me of what people's power can do. I loved our revolution because... Kollena Khaled Saeed's admin remained unknown for everyone, even most of those who worked with them until he got arrested. The 6th of April Movement's leaders weren't in the picture either. Kollena Khaled Saeed and The 6th of April Movement cooperated together as one to bring our revolution into life. The internet was used to spread the word about the revolution and everyone shared the Facebook event and invited their friends until the invitation reached more than a million. The 6th of April Movement has also worked on the ground and spread the word around the whole country, not only in Cairo and Alexandria, never minding the police that was always arresting their activists. Both movements were very opt...

Egypt, Now and Then; Right Now

I never knew that I could be that depressed, I literally didn't know that I had the ability to be that hurt. For the Egyptians who died, our martyrs. For the Muslims and Christians who fell in the trap, for those who gave the terrorists the time of their lives by fighting each other, by hating each other. On the first of January, my family and I did what we had to do, what we could do at that time. We called our Christian friends and offered them our deepest condolences. But this isn't only their loss, it's our loss, it's all of Egypt's loss. 22  Egyptian families are mourning the death of a family member, a loved one, a best friend. Others are mourning the loss of innocent human beings, religious ones, who were celebrating a new year. Others are thinking of the loss of a country who's people are too busy fighting each other to save it from falling. No religion would see this as a good deed. Not a single normal human being would. Only those brainwashed, only tho...
